KEARNEY COUNTY FAIR
We were so excited about the Fair this year, and was wonderfully
surprised, when we received a wonderful donation of building materials.
We, also, did very well at our booth, and met many new friends and
supporters. We have had many new visitors, as a result of the fair, and
several pending adoptions

GIBBON 4TH OF JULY PARADE
For the first time we entered seven miniature horses, dressed as the
symbols of Freedom in the 4th of July Parade. Response was tremendous.
We received first place in the animal/pets category with a resounding
win. All the minis were on their best behavior, and though the day got
very warm, we survived. We had planned an additional parade, however,
two of the younger miniatures, Fire Fly, and Tudie were exhausted, as
was I and we decided to wait until next year. All involved had a ball
designing costumes, getting the minis ready to go, and leading them
during the parade. It was a great team effort that resulted in a
wonderful day of recognition and praise for Break Heart Ranch.

2009 Gibbon City Wide
Garage Sale
Break Heart Ranch had a booth at the city wide garage sale. Proceeds went
to Break Heart Ranch for medical care. We raised enough to geld Tyee,
Cade and have Priscillas tooth problem treated. We met many interested
people, eager to come and see us. It was a two day event, and happily the
weather was fairly good. We plan this again for next year as a fun fun
raising event.

In the attempt to raise awareness of the peril our
Nation's horses are in, Break Heart Ranch attended a Kearney Event where
we talked with supporters and those wanting more information on horse slaughter.
We also raised some donations and sold items to help buy feed.

Tana Whitefoot, 5th grader
at Windy Hills Elementary School, Kearney, NE raised $285.00 for
Break Heart Ranch, located near Minden, NE.
With the consent of Principal Jerry Gloystein, Tana held
a two day fundraiser, which included; a hat day for students, a
blue-jeans day for teachers, and a cowboy/cowgirl dress-up day.
Her 5th grade class also held a bake sale in March,
splitting the proceeds between Break Heart Ranch and the Kearney
Humane Society.
Tana's interest in Break Heart Ranch began when her grandmother,
Verlene Holstien of Minden, took her to visit the ranch on a few
occasions. She felt
sorry for the abused horses and wanted to do something to help.
Tana presented the check to Val and John, owner's of
Break Heart Ranch on Saturday, April 28th.
Tana is the daughter of Brent and Sheryl Whitefoot of
Kearney.
The Break
Heart Ranch Horse Rescue appreciates the hard work that Tana has
done to help the horses. Her donation was greatly
appreciated. Most importantly, it was very touching that
this young lady chose us for her fundraiser
Tanna presenting the check
to John and Val with horsey onlookers, Nymawae and Faith.

Break Heart Ranch at the 2007 Nebraska Horse Expo
Break Heart Ranch Horse
Rescue had a booth at the 2007 Nebraska Horse Expo in an effort
to get the word out on horse slaughter and mistreatment here in
the U.S.
We were very appreciative
of all the donations made for our continued rescue efforts.
We met some wonderful new friends and are looking forward to
returning next year.
The winner of the beautiful
hand carved Silver horse donated by Of This Earth Jewelry
was won by Gerri Wolf ( who jumping for joy, said she had never
won anything before!)
One of the goals of Break
Heart Horse Rescue is to make people aware of what we are
letting happen to America's horses. PMU, Mustangs, burros,
donkeys and slaughter auctions. Many people were horrified
at the cruelty and inhumane way we treat the animals we claim to
love and who have died to make this Nation what it is today.
We will continue in our education and our fight to stop inhumane
slaughter for human consumption and to make Americans
responsible for their horses and their well being.

If you would like to donate,
you can contribute by credit card through

on this site or mail by "snail mail" - or for published
materials or information about the
Massacre of our Mustangs or slaughter auctions, conatct us at
breakheartranch@gtmc.net
or 308-832-7212
We attend slaughter auctions on a regular basis
and take in abused, starved or abandoned horses. We are
only limited by the number we can take care of properly, your
donations are a blessed addition and can SAVE THE LIFE OF A
HORSE!

Nebraska Horse Expo
2006
I attended the Nebraska
Horse Expo, an annual event put on by the Nebraska Horse Council
March 10, 11 and 12th. It was a wonderful, fast paced
three days filled with all kinds of equine information and
events. I shared a booth with Christina Miller, who has
Heartland Horse Rescue right out of Omaha.
We were there to help people become aware of the horse abuse
problems here in Nebraska. We sold raffle tickets and will
be having a large combined fund raiser on June 3rd. More
information will be forth coming. I did have a moment to
chat with John Lyons regarding my rescues. He was gracious
enough to give me an autograph and stand for a picture. He
hosted several seminars at the event.

Headstart Pre-school Outing
Headstart
- Minden, NE - October 23, 2006. Val & John Hinderlider of Break
Heart Ranch paid a visit to the Children of Headstart in Minden, NE. They
brought the wonderful Miniature Stallion Dillian's Grand Attitude. Tudey was
a big hit with these children!! They loved petting and playing with Tudey. They asked many questions and had a lovely time with Val, John and Tudey.
Following are pictures of the fun:

Minden 2006 Home Coming Parade
John
and Val Hinderlider took their miniatures "Star" and her daughter "Tudie" in support of the Homecoming game. We marched behind the Girl Scouts
and the horses were troopers, despite the noise and distractions.
This was "Tudie" first ride in a horse trailer and she loaded like pro. After the parade, we visited with children and other people who wanted to
pet the horses. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. A former volunteer
helped carry the banner, along with Allison Lempke.

Break Heart Ranch Horse Rescue
provided Break Heart T-shirts for some of the winners in the Children's

Clinton Anderson Clinic in Elkhorn,
NE - Sept. 2006
I attended the Clinton Anderson's Seminar with two other Break Heart Board
Members, Mary Safarik and Linda Hamilton in September. I like
Clinton's methods and the way he handles horses. I was able to learn some
new things and have an enjoyable few days of vacation. I was on
crutches, but that didn't stop me from getting around and looking at
everything the Seminar had to offer. I enjoyed talking with Clinton
and am looking forward to attending more.
