FOBe

|

FOBe keeps going, and going. This boy is going to be
big, and tall. Also, a pain at times. FOBe is so convinced he is a
special boy, that he demands special treatment. This can cause a
little problem at times. However, FOBe is a very bright gelding, and
he learns quickly. He is only two years old, so won't start under saddle
until next year. He has done great on ground training, farrier,
loading, and clipping. He still has a little work on the bath thing.
Visitors to the ranch, have to visit FOBe, or he will let them know all
about who is who. After seeing his size, most are amazed he is only two
years old. His impish character, and tattooed eyes make him a
favorite.

|

FOBe had his eyes tattooed, to prevent skin cancer around his eyes. He
is growing into a big boy, but loves attention.

FOBe growing up!!
FOBe is a yearling now and will be having his
eyes tattooed, so he won't have to worry about skin cancer.
FOBe and the "Molasses Head Gang" are
learning how to be well mannered kids. Sometimes!!!!

FOBe is a little blue eyed cremello
stud colt that did not have a future. The breeder who owned him was
going to take the larger horses to a slaughter auction and FOBe was not
going. His owner thought that no one would want him, so he was to
be killed. Thankfully we were notified about the Nebraska seven,
and through the wonderful help of Friends of Barbaro, and some other
great people, we were able to rescue all seven.
FOBe is living proof that humans
can be wonderful, and was named after those who helped save him.
FOBe will require a hernia surgery due to a small umbilical hernia.
FOBe is quite a character. He
loves to dress up and is very precocious. Please watch the site for
updates on FOBe, his friends and the rest of his extended family, that
were saved from a inhumane end to their lives.
Donations are needed for the
gelding of two of the studs that were rescued and the mares will all
need pregnancy checks. Six of the horses will need extensive farrier
work, due to their feet being in such bad condition. However,
these horses have not been handled and it will take a little time to get
them to accept our care. Of course, we can always use donations
for hay and feed as these horses are low body weight and actually eat
like, er, horses!!!
